Essex Powerlines Supports Ontario's 2nd Provincewide Energy Conservation Week
Sunday, May. 17, 2009
Essex
Powerlines has recently celebrated a major conservation
milestone. We have prevented 27,212,691 kg of CO2 from
being released into the atmosphere due to the outstanding effort Essex
Powerline customers have made. This is a major reduction in our CARBON
FOOTPRINT. These carbon savings are equivalent to removing 54,425,382 water
bottles off the production line!
Essex
Powerlines continued their leadership role in conservation by participating in
the OPA's Energy Conservation Week that was held May 17-23. During Energy
Conservation Week, Essex Powerlines cheered on its customers to reduce
their energy usage. Essex Powerline representatives were
among the municipalities at local retail stores, educating the public on
conservation and encouraging people to sign up for the Count Me In! Challenge.
The Count-Me In! Challenge
is a provincewide campaign that is designed to inspire Ontarians to make
conscious decisions to conserve energy. By visiting the online portal <www.energyconservationweek.ca>
Ontarians can pledge to conserve energy at home, work and school by
choosing from a list of 100 simple, effective energy saving ideas.
Even though Energy
Conservation week has ended, we must still be proactive in conservation. Essex
Powerlines is encouraging its customers to embrace an energy-efficient
lifestyle and lead by example. We would also like to thank our
customers for their continuous conservation efforts and congratulate them on
their outstanding kilowatt and dollar savings.
