Essex Powerlines donates $4030 to Coats for Kids- Unemployed Help Centre!

ESSEX POWERLINES DONATES $4,030 TO COATS FOR KIDS WITH HELP FROM ITS CUSTOMERS
Essex Powerlines’ (EPL) most recent paperless billing campaign, Go Paperless with a Purpose, saw a tremendous turnout of customers registering for paperless billing and helping donate to Coats for Kids. Over the course of 8 weeks, 403 customers signed up for paperless, resulting in a donation of $4,030 to Coats for Kids at the Unemployed Help Centre.
The Coats for Kids program made a call for action this year after stating the program was in jeopardy due to lack of storage space, money to wash coats, and new collection sites. As a result, Essex Powerlines decided to take action and show support for the initiative and its community.  The seasonal campaign provided customers the opportunity to save paper and donate $10 to the Coats for Kids program at the Unemployed Help Centre by signing up for paperless billing using EPL’s customer portal, MyAccount.
In addition to the monetary donation, EPL employees held an internal campaign to collect coats to be donated.
“It is amazing to see community members come together to help support a local cause. We would like to thank our customers for their support and participation in the “Go Paperless with a Purpose” campaign, which saw 403 new customer sign ups and contributed $4,030 towards Coats for Kids. As a local distribution company, we are proud to work together with our communities and local organizations to help make a difference.” Joe Barile, General Manager, Essex Powerlines Corporation.
“We are so grateful for this amazing donation from Essex Powerlines Corporation. Having these donations will help to ensure many adults and children across Windsor-Essex will have a coat this season.” June Muir, CEO, Unemployed Help Centre
