ESSEX POWER CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT & CEO
The Essex Power Board of Directors (“Essex Power”) is very pleased to announce that John Avdoulos has been awarded the position of President & CEO, Essex Power Corporation, effective March 2, 2020. Mr. Avdoulos will replace current President & CEO, Ray Tracey, who will be retiring after a very successful career with Essex Power and the electricity sector.

Mr. Avdoulos has been dedicated to the Essex Power Group of Companies since 2006, serving in various capacities, including Chief Operating Officer at our HoldCo Essex Power. At our regulated LDC, Essex Powerlines, Mr. Avdoulos in the role of Engineering Business Development Manager was instrumental in putting the building blocks of technology and lean processes together to build the foundation of a digital utility platform. In 2012, he assumed the role of President at our unregulated and competitive business, Utilismart Corporation. As Utilismart President, Mr. Avdoulos has transformed Utilismart into a North American leader in utility data solutions. Through Utilismart’s advanced series of products, its customers are able to make actionable decisions based on the wealth of data analytics.
Prior to Mr. Avdoulos’ electricity industry experience, he had 16 years of experience in the manufacturing sector. Mr. Avdoulos’ manufacturing experience has provided a unique view to the energy sector, specifically the use of Lean Black Belt strategies to optimize performance management. Mr. Avdoulos holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Windsor, a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Lawrence Technological University, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Windsor and a McLaughlin Masters Certificate in Project Management. John Avdoulos is also a member of the Association of Energy Engineers.
Ray Tracey is retiring after more than 34 years of dedicated service in the electric distribution industry; Mr. Tracey’s last day with Essex Power will be April 30, 2020. He will play an integral role in the transition phase of the new President & CEO. As President & CEO of EPC, Ray Tracey led a dedicated and knowledgeable team that had successfully built the foundation to establish a diverse set of energy products and services that provide value to its customers.
