Powering Future Leaders: Applications Now Open

Essex Power Corporation is now accepting applications for its annual Powering Future Leaders Bursary, supporting local students pursuing post-secondary education in fields that strengthen and sustain the utility industry.

This year, five bursaries valued at $1,000 each will be awarded. Four are available to graduating Grade 12 students living within the Essex Powerlines service territory, with a fifth bursary dedicated to an eligible student from Caldwell First Nation.

The program is designed to support students entering disciplines such as Powerline Technician training, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)—helping to build the next generation of skilled professionals who will power our communities.

“Investing in education is an investment in our community’s future,” said John Avdoulos, President & CEO of Essex Power Corporation. “Through the Powering Future Leaders Bursary, we’re proud to support students who are pursuing careers that will help power our region forward.”

Essex Power recognizes the growing financial demands of post-secondary education and remains committed to reducing barriers through meaningful community investment. This bursary reflects the organization’s longstanding commitment to youth achievement, workforce development, and community growth.
